Synagogue in Caracal
The synagogue in Caracal is located on Sergent Grigore Ion street, in an area connected to the old quarter of the Jewish community. The building dates from 1902 and is listed in the List of Historical Monuments. The sober facade, organized symmetrically, preserves circular windows in the upper part and elements that refer to neoclassical architecture.
The tourist center of the city describes an interior decorated with paintings and furniture specific to the Jewish worship. For a walk through the heritage of Caracal, the synagogue can be viewed as an architectural landmark from the outside. A prior check is required for access inside; the facade can be seen from the street.
