Synagogue in Gheorgheni
Gheorgheni, Harghita
The synagogue in Gheorgheni is located on Nicolae Bălcescu street no. 9, in the city center. It was built between 1926 and 1927 from the donations of the Jewish community, which then had approximately 1,000 members, many of them workers at the sawmills in the area.
It is one of the few synagogues in the Szeklerland and is a historical monument.
