Szekler National Museum
The Szekler National Museum is located in Sfântu Gheorghe, Covasna county, on Kós Károly Street. Founded in 1875, the museum holds collections on the history, nature and culture of the Szekler communities. Its main building was designed by the architect Károly Kós and inaugurated in 1913.
Its holdings include archaeological finds, old books, textiles, ceramics and painted or carved furniture. The library keeps the Apor Codex, a medieval manuscript important for the history of the Hungarian language. In the yard there are Szekler gates and a wooden house from the Ciuc area. The exhibitions cover crafts, household life and the events that have shaped the region over time.
