Teleki Castle in Gornești

Teleki Castle is located in Gornești commune, Mureș county, in a park with old trees and statues. The baroque residence of the Teleki family was built in the eighteenth century to a design attributed to the architect Andreas Mayerhoffer. The curved facade and the prominent central block give it its characteristic shape.

The dendrological park is preserved around the castle, with paths and allegorical sculptures. The building was used during the communist period as a children's preventorium and was later returned to the family's heirs. The building's massing, its windows and the ornaments above the entrance retain the features of a noble residence of baroque Transylvania.
