The Thai cat (Thai, in Thailand Wichien Maat, meaning "gold-diamond") is the "old" Siamese: it retains the more moderate shape of the cats brought from Thailand in the nineteenth century, before the western Siamese became very slender and angular. It has a point pattern and blue eyes and the same talkative, playful and people-loving character as the Siamese.
