2013 - Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton, Elizabeth Debicki
The Great Gatsby follows aspiring writer Nick Carraway, who moves to New York in the spring of 1922, an era of declining values, jazz, bootlegging kingpins and a booming stock market. Pursuing the American dream, Nick ends up living next door to the mysterious, party-loving millionaire Jay Gatsby and across the bay from his cousin Daisy and her womanizing, blue-blooded husband, Tom Buchanan. Nick enters the world of the wealthy, their illusions, loves and disappointments. Observing this new world, he writes a story of unfulfilled love, undying dreams and tragedy, holding a mirror up to our modern world and its struggles.
