After dropping out of school following a recent diagnosis of mental illness, she must deal with bipolar disorder, the responsibilities of adult life, and damaged relationships with family and friends. Clemence tries to figure out how to heal herself without driving the people around her crazy. In addition to the need to reevaluate her relationship with the things and people she has always taken for granted, she is also concerned by the thought that she might simply have a difficult character.
