Theodor Aman Museum
The Theodor Aman Museum is located in Bucharest, on C. A. Rosetti Street, in the house built in 1868 according to the artist's design. The building was a home and a workshop, and Aman was involved in the architecture and the decoration of the rooms. On the outside, sculptures by Karl Storck complete the facade, while the interior preserves murals, stained-glass windows and pieces of furniture that reflect the painter's vision.
The house became a museum in 1908. The tour takes you through rooms where works of art blend with decor designed for everyday life and for receiving guests. The workshop and the preserved objects show Aman's artistic interests beyond easel painting, including an interest in furniture and ornament. The museum is administered by the Bucharest City Museum; for groups and guided tours, consult the booking conditions published by the institution.
