Town Hall Palace in Târgu Ocna
Târgu Ocna Town Hall Palace was built between 1910 and 1912 according to the project of the architect Petre Antonescu. The initiative of the new administrative headquarters was supported by the mayor Scarlat Gheorghiu. The brick and stone building was designed in an eclectic style, with influences of traditional Romanian architecture.
The facade is dominated by the tower that served as a fire watchtower, above the ground floor and first floor buildings. The composition includes arches, clustered windows and roofs of different volumes. In the past, the headquarters also housed the police and the justice of the peace's court. Today the administrative function continues, and the tourist stop looks primarily at the exterior architecture and the square in front.
