Transfăgărășan and the Bâlea area
Argeș and Sibiu counties
The Transfăgărășan is a mountain road that passes through the Făgăraș Mountains and connects Argeș and Sibiu counties. On the route are Bâlea Lake and Waterfall, as well as viewpoints overlooking the mountains. The alpine section is closed seasonally, so road conditions should be checked before departure.
