Transylvanian Art Center

The Art Center of Transylvania, also known by the abbreviation EMŰK, operates on Oltului street in Sfântu Gheorghe. The institution gathers, researches and presents modern and contemporary Transylvanian art. The collection focuses in particular on the work of Hungarian artists from Transylvania, but also includes Romanian, Saxon and other artists, as well as artists based outside the region.

The center's spaces host temporary exhibitions, organized around artists, collections or curatorial themes. In 2026, the center participated in the White Night of the Galleries with an exhibition within the Biennale of Graphics from the Szeklerland. The selection of works changes with the exhibition program, so the presentation announced for the period of the visit shows what can be seen in the rooms.
