Throughout the ages, men have waged war: some for power, others for glory or honor, and others for love. In ancient Greece, the passion of two of history's most legendary lovers, Paris, Prince of Troy (Orlando Bloom), and Helen (Diane Kruger), Queen of Sparta, unleashes a war that will devastate a civilization. Paris's abduction of Helen, separating her from her husband, King Menelaus (Brendan Gleeson), is an insult. Family pride dictates that an affront to Menelaus is an affront to his brother Agamemnon (Brian Cox), the powerful king of Mycenae, who soon rallies all the great tribes of Greece to reclaim Helen from the Trojans and defend his brother's honor. In truth, Agamemnon's fight for honor is corrupted by his uncontrollable greed: he needs to conquer Troy to gain control of the Aegean Sea.
