The TV show "True Detective"

An anthology crime series created by Nic Pizzolatto, in which each season tells a new story, with a different case, different investigators and a different setting. The first season follows detectives Rust Cohle (Matthew McConaughey) and Marty Hart (Woody Harrelson) as they hunt a serial killer in Louisiana over 17 years. In the second, a bizarre murder in California brings together police officers Ray Velcoro (Colin Farrell), Ani Bezzerides (Rachel McAdams) and Paul Woodrugh (Taylor Kitsch) and career criminal Frank Semyon (Vince Vaughn). The third season, starring Mahershala Ali, follows the disappearance of two children in the Ozarks across three decades, and the fourth, Night Country, starring Jodie Foster and Kali Reis, takes place during the polar night in Alaska.
