Turkish Van
Turkey, United Kingdom
The Turkish Van is a large, semi-long haired breed created in Great Britain in the 1950s from cats brought over from Turkey. It has the "van" pattern, named after the breed itself: the body is white, and the color is only on the head and tail. The eyes can be blue, orange or different colors. She is intelligent, energetic and playful, and has an unusual fascination with water; that's why it's called the "swimming cat".
