Union Museum in Iași
The Union Museum in Iași, Iași county, occupies a neoclassical residence on Alexandru Lăpușneanu street. The building was used by Alexandru Ioan Cuza between 1859 and 1862, and during the First World War it housed King Ferdinand. The museum was inaugurated in 1959, on the centenary of the Union of the Principalities.
The collection brings together documents, furniture and decorative objects that belonged to the personalities of the era. The activity of Cuza, the Revolution of 1848 and the preparation of the Union of 1859 are represented. The rooms of the former residence preserve arrangements that evoke the political and domestic life of the nineteenth century.
