Vârciorog Waterfall
Arieșeni, Alba
In the southeast of the Bihor Mountains, on the territory of Arieșeni commune in Alba county, lies the Vârciorog Waterfall. The water falls over a rocky step of more than 15 meters, in a wooded area at the foot of Piatra Grăitoare Peak. The stream that forms the waterfall flows into Arieșul Mare.
The waterfall and the surrounding land make up a nature reserve of geological and landscape interest. Rocks, stones in the streambed and the valley's vegetation shape the setting. The amount of water and the appearance of the waterfall change depending on the rainfall and the time of year.
