Victor Gorduza Mineralogy Museum

Baia Mare, Maramureș

The "Victor Gorduza" Mineralogy Museum is located in Baia Mare, Maramureș County, on Traian Boulevard. The collection started from samples collected in 1968 and developed around the minerals from the Oaș, Gutâi and Țibleș Mountains. The main exhibition opened in the current building in 1989.

The halls display rocks, ores and crystals from the region's mines. The pieces known as "mine flowers" stand out for the shapes and combinations of their crystals. The collection explains the connection between the geological structure of the mountains, the formation of deposits and the history of mining in the Baia Mare area.
