Village Museum in Baia Mare
The Baia Mare Village Museum occupies an open-air space on the Hill of Flowers and belongs to the Maramureș County Museum of Ethnography and Folk Art. The traditional households and constructions present ways of living in Historical Maramureș, Chioar, Lăpuș and Codru. Houses, gates and annexes can be viewed together to understand how a household's space was organized, beyond the appearance of a single building.
The walk follows the alleys between the constructions and the details of the materials, roofs and woodwork. The household annexes show the place of storage and work in the life of the village, and the interior of the houses is visited according to the open spaces. The outdoor section is distinct from the ethnography pavilion, announced by the institution as closed for rehabilitation. Footwear suitable for walking outside is useful on this route.
