Vivarium in Bacău
At the Vivarium in Bacău, the exhibits are live animals: fish, reptiles, amphibians and birds. The institution on Popa Șapcă street belongs to the "Ion Borcea" Natural Sciences Museum Complex and has four permanent exhibitions. The aquariums bring together species from Romanian waters, such as carp, crucian carp and perch, and exotic fish, including guppies, swordtails and goldfish. The differences in shape, color and behavior can be directly observed in the pools designed for each group.
The terrariums are dedicated to reptiles and amphibians, from turtles and salamanders to snakes from the local fauna and tropical species. Other spaces feature ornamental birds and pigeon breeds. The vivarium operates in a separate building from the natural science museum, and the visit focuses on these living collections and their habitats.
