Water Museum in Timișoara
The Water Museum in Timișoara occupies the buildings of the former Urseni Water Plant, on Calea Urseni. Opened to the public in 2023, the museum preserves installations and spaces that participated in the city's water supply. The industrial complex was built for water treatment and pumping, and its buildings were reused in a cultural circuit.
The route passes through the Group of Wells, the Iron Removal Building and the Pump House. On the circular platform you can see the water extraction wells, and in the Iron Removal Building the installations of the first stage of filtration are presented. The Pump House preserves machinery and decorative details of industrial architecture. Visitors can thus follow the path of the water, from extraction to distribution. The museum also hosts exhibitions or educational activities, and school groups are scheduled according to the rules published by the institution.
