The Wetterhoun (Friesian Water Dog) is a rare Dutch Friesian dog with hard curled fur that feels greasy to the touch. It was traditionally used for otter hunting and yard guarding. The FCI standard describes it as strong-willed by nature, affectionate in the family, vigilant in the house and in the yard and on the hunt for pests, reserved with strangers at first, but not fearful.
