White Cross on Domogled

The White Cross is located on a rocky spur of Domogled, above Băile Herculane. From here, there are views of the buildings of the resort, the Cerna Valley and the surrounding wooded slopes. The landmark is included in the official routes of the Domogled–Valea Cernei National Park and is a stopping point for hikers going up from the city.

Access is on the marked path that starts from the DN67D area and climbs in switchbacks. The last part has narrow and exposed sections, so grippy shoes and attention to weather and trail conditions are required. At the cross you can stop for a panorama of the valley; the paths continue to other points on Domogled and to Izvorul Jelărău.
