Women's Cave
Baia de Fier, Gorj
In Baia de Fier, Gorj County, the Women's Cave offers a route through galleries with limestone formations. The cave has several levels, and visitors walk through the section open to the public. The cave is also known for its archaeological and paleontological discoveries: research has brought to light traces of people and animals that used this shelter in the past. Narrow passages alternating with wider chambers are part of the tour. Visits follow the administrator's instructions; watch out for steps, low sections and wet surfaces.
