Wood Art Museum
The Wood Art Museum in Câmpulung Moldovenesc, Suceava county, is dedicated to the use of wood in the life of Bucovina communities. The institution, founded in 1936, preserves collections of tools, furniture, household objects and artistic pieces that document the crafts of the mountainous area of Bucovina.
In exhibitions there are objects for shepherding and agriculture, elements of the traditional house, dowry chests and sculptures. The shapes and ornaments show how utility and decoration were combined in local workshops. The museum is located on Calea Transilvaniei, in the center of the city, and also has a documentary archive about the history of Câmpulung and wood processing.
