Wooden Church in Pocruia

Pocruia, Tismana, Gorj

The wooden church of Saint Andrew in Pocruia, a village that is part of the town of Tismana, is dated to around 1807 based on its pomelnic lists, the church registers of names read out in prayers for the living and the dead. However, the year 1772 is engraved on a beam to the right of the entrance, which shows that the church already existed then.

During restoration, the log walls were set on a stone plinth. The patronal feast is celebrated on November 30. The church is a historic monument.
