Wooden Church in Silivaș

Silivaș, Cluj

The wooden church of the Holy Archangels in Silivaș, part of the town of Gherla, dates from 1827. It was painted around 1847, and the scenes can still be seen in the sanctuary and in the narthex.

On the iconostasis, the captions of the images are written in Cyrillic script; the sanctuary has inscriptions in Latin, and the nave vault bears Gospel quotations in Latin, German and Hungarian.
