Zakynthos

Greece
Also known as Zante, Zakynthos is the third largest of the Ionian Islands, and the Venetians, who ruled it from 1484 to 1797, called it the “Flower of the East”. Navagio beach, a cove closed in by high cliffs, can only be reached by boat. The Bay of Laganas, the first national marine park, is the main nesting area of loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta caretta) in the Mediterranean.
