Zambaccian Museum
Bucharest
A house near Dorobanților Square in Bucharest houses the Zambaccian Museum. The collector Krikor H. Zambaccian donated both the building and his art collection to the state in 1947. The rooms preserve the connection between the space of a home and the works collected by the owner.
The collection includes Romanian painting, sculpture, graphics and furniture. Names such as Nicolae Grigorescu, Ștefan Luchian, Theodor Pallady and Corneliu Baba are represented, alongside artists such as Cézanne, Matisse and Picasso. The sculptures of Constantin Brâncuși and Milița Petrașcu complete the ensemble, managed by the National Art Museum of Romania.
